The Superior Chamber of the Electoral Court of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF) rejected the disagreement over the application of the state formula for the allocation of resources to political parties, thereby endorsed that the local parties Futuro and Hagamos are among those that receive the most funds.
the determination ends the legal dispute after the State Electoral Court (Triejal) modified the assignment of prerogatives that had been endorsed by the State Electoral Institute with the application of the local legislation of the #SinVotoNoHayDinero reform.
Judge Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón, president of the Superior Chamber of the TEPJF, considered that the local court made a misinterpretation of the legislationsince even the Supreme Court of Justice had ruled in favor of the constitutionality of the local formula.
“The Superior Chamber, when rejecting, has a confirmation of the decision of the Regional Chamber. The local Court was revoked because the interpretation was not in accordance with the law”, he commented.
He added that the state government must guarantee budget sufficiency so that the political institutes receive the funds.
With this determination, what is approved by the State Electoral Institute is maintained with what Citizen Movement (MC) has 34.5 million pesos (MDP); the local party Let’s do 30.2 million pesos; Future will get 28.4 million; Brunette 23.9 million pesos; the PAN corresponds to 16.3 million; in the case of the PRI 16.2 million pesos and the Green Party 7.9 million pesos.
Judge Rodríguez Mondragón visited the Congress of Jalisco for the presentation of the book “Electoral Systems and Political Parties”.
