Feyenoord has confirmed the arrival of Danilo. The 23-year-old Brazilian striker comes transfer-free from arch-rival Ajax and signs for four years. Earlier this week, there were already reports of an upcoming transfer.
At the end of last year, Ajax made an attempt to extend Danilo’s expiring contract, also in order to be able to continue to ensure a transfer fee. However, the Brazilian did not respond.
Feyenoord took the plunge. “An agile, fast striker like Danilo is a welcome addition to our roster,” said technical director Frank Arnesen.
“That he can make the transfer to Feyenoord free of charge is also a nice thing. We are very hopeful that Danilo can show us what he is good at: being effective and threatening in the sixteen and scoring goals.”
