You can hardly ignore it: the lawsuit between Johnny Depp and his ex Amber Heard. The images of the proverbial mud-slinging makes many viewers long for Depp’s films again, so that his iconic Pirates of the Caribbean films are suddenly viewed en masse on Disney +.
In the top 10 on Disney+ are Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006) and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007). Disney+ keeps concrete viewing figures to itself, but it is clear that the lawsuit with Amber Heard at least on the streaming service is good for Depp’s career. The entire Pirates series is now available on Disney+.
After Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) is kidnapped by the villainous Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and his crew, blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and pirate Jack Sparrow (Depp), formerly captain of Barbossa’s ship, join forces to save Swann. But they soon discover that the pirates have their own secret, sinister intentions for Ms. Swann, and that there is much more to it than a simple kidnapping.
