Billionaire Elon Musk, whose purchase of Twitter is on hold, announced this Wednesday that for the first time he will vote for the Republican Partyaccusing the Democratic Party, for which he has so far voted, of sowing “division and hatred.”
“In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (for the most part) the party of kindness. But they have become the party of division and hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican,” Musk tweeted.
He warned, at the same time, that there will surely be a “dirty tricks campaign” by the Democrats against him in the coming days for his change of position.
Musk also spoke at a virtual tech summit in Miami, All-In podcast, where he mentioned that “may have never voted for a Republican. In these elections I will do it,” and alluded to the “extreme left bias” of the Democrats.

The owner of Tesla, who in the past claimed that the Republican Party was “a victim of corporate evil and religious fanaticism,” he particularly criticized President Joe Biden, whom he called an “empty suit”. According to him, “the true president of the country is the one who controls the teleprompter.”
Last Tuesday, Musk warned that the acquisition of Twitter – for 44 billion dollars – will not be carried out unless there are guarantees about the fake accounts (bots) that abound on the platform.
He also offered that, if the operation is completed, he will return his Twitter account to former Republican President Donald Trump, who assured that he will not return to this social network.
