A torrential downpour, including an electrical storm, completely flooded the field of the Allen Riggioni stadium in Greece (west of the country), forcing the game between the locals and Saprissa to be suspended (0-0) at minute 39, which leaves in Suspense the eventual classification of the S to the semifinals of the Clausura 2022 tournament in Costa Rica.
Scheduled for 9:00 p.m. GMT, the rain subsided two hours later, but the stadium lacks artificial lighting.
The only match pending in the qualifying phase, the remaining 51 minutes were rescheduled for this Monday at 5:00 p.m. GMT.
Saprissa is forced to win to advance as fourth place, as its rival for the ticket, San Carlos, beat Sporting 2-1. Whoever continues will face the leader of this first round, Liga Deportiva Alajuelense. The other key will be disputed by the current monarch, Club Sport Herediano against Club Sport Cartaginés.
The semifinals will be played from June 19 to give the Costa Rican National Team space for their World Cup playoff game against New Zealand, on the 14th of that month in Qatar.
