The Swiss say “yes”, in a referendum, to increase the financing of Frontex. Almost three quarters of the participants have supported raising the financial and personnel contribution to the border security agency of the European Union (EU). Switzerland will go from contributing 23 million euros per year to 58, in 2027.
Support for Frontex allays fears that the country could be left out of the Schengen area.

For supporters of the “no”, Frontex is “responsible for the violence, misery and deaths that occur at the gates of Europe”. The field of “yes” ensures that looking the other way is of no use.

And 58.42% of the Swiss have said “yes” to the audiovisual regulation, baptized Lex Netflix. It is a tax that forces streaming platforms to contribute 4% to the production of national cinema and television.
Finally, 60% of the Swiss have supported a legal reform by which all citizens will be potential organ donors, except those who have expressed their opposition to it.
