If you take a look at the selections of Ajax and PSV, you will soon come across well-known Orange names: Sherida Spitse, Stefanie van der Gragt, Victoria Pelova (all Ajax) and Sari van Veenendaal, Mandy van den Berg, Janou Levels, Desiree van Lunteren (all PSV).
It is an open secret that the two clubs work with a larger budget than FC Twente. When push comes to shove, money is not everything in women’s football. Olislagers: “It’s teamwork. We have many goals in it and therefore also a lot of quality. But we do it together and that is our quality.”
That is exactly what trainer De Pauw, who is already saying goodbye to FC Twente after one season, sees when he looks at his team. “They go through fire for each other. In the event of setbacks or grief. One is ready for the other,” says De Pauw.
Is his team ready? “Absolutely. I see enthusiasm, passion and energy. They are very eager to play that match. For a trainer that is a pleasure, I am grateful for that.”
