The handball players of Venlo have won the first match for the championship of the Netherlands. Venlo, which has never played for the title, surprised VOC in Amsterdam with 24-23.
Venlo made its debut in the Eredivisie in 2014 and only beat VOC once in the twenty matches that followed. The team from Limburg started the final match better than the seven-time champion, who played restlessly and suffered a lot of ball loss.
