After the appearance of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), most Marvel fans were prepared for even more groundbreaking cameos in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). One of the biggest rumors before the film’s release was that Deadpool (2016), played by Ryan Reynolds, would appear as the highly anticipated introduction to the fan-favorite. Yet he did not appear, but screenwriter Michael Waldron confirmed to ComicBook.com that there have been discussions about it.
“Yeah, we talked about it. I think we talked about everything in this movie. So it would have been crazy not to bring that up, but in the end it didn’t feel like… It just didn’t feel like the right place But yes, of course we talked about it.”
Reynolds himself denied any rumors about his expected Doctor Strange cameo. But fans remained hopeful as Garfield did the same about his appearance in No Way Home.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently in theaters. The complete review of the film can be read on this page.
