The State Congress approved the reform to the state Law on Investment Projects and Service Provision, which opens the participation of the Private Initiative (IP) in the financing of infrastructure projects such as Line 4 (L4) of the Light Rail.
Although since last May 4 the deputy Gabriela Cárdenas, from MC, commented that the adjustment is not a “tailor-made suit” for the construction of L4, yesterday Mara Robles, Hagamos legislator, assured that it was made “to eventually favor an alleged company that the way has been paved for him. And from there will come the contracting of a new debt”.
In the modifications made, it was included that the term of validity of public-private partnership contracts is a minimum of five years and a maximum of 40.
José María Martínez, from Morena, stressed that changes were made, since the opinion lacked transparency, maximum publicity and accountability.
Hortensia María Luisa Noroña, from the PRI, said that they created balances and also put padlocks.
The L4 will have a cost of nine billion pesos (MDP) that will be contributed by the federal, state and IP governments.
