The French justice opened an investigation at the end of March against the president of Interpol, the Emirati Ahmed Nasser al Raisi, for “complicity in torture”, after the complaint of two British women, sources close to the case told AFP on Wednesday.
The National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) confirmed to AFP that it entrusted an investigation to a Parisian judge after a complaint about “torture” and “arbitrary arrests” in 2018 and 2019. The also high-ranking head of the Emirati police is already the subject of an investigation preliminary investigation of the PNAT for similar accusations.
