First official preview of “Avatar: The Way of Water”, sequel to the acclaimed work by James Cameron

Jake Sully lives with his new family formed on the planet Pandora, but a threat returns to end what had been started before, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na’vi race to protect his planet.

With the confirmation of the second part almost two years ago, an extension of the saga until the fifth installment was also announced. James Cameron bets everything on his biggest blockbuster story and puts the focus back on technological innovation, but also on the nostalgia of the first film. The second part will be released in December. Avatar: The Way Of Water and this Monday, May 9, they released the official trailer.

finally arrived Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessthe long-awaited film from Marvel Studios, and with this premiere it was possible to see for the first time and exclusively the trailer for the sequel to Avatar rather than on social media. The preview is brief and has little dialogue, but it’s enough for you to identify Cameron’s hand and feel back on Pandora. Among the novelties, the appearance of Kate Winslet as Ronal and the return of her protagonists Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang stand out.

The synopsis reads as follows: “Jake Sully lives with his new formed family on the planet Pandora, but a threat returns to end what was started before, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na’vi race to protect Your planet. Set more than a decade after the events that took place in the first film, Avatar: The Water Path tells the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the danger that follows them, the efforts they make to stay safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.

Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the film is the beginning of a new stage for Avatar and the expansion of its stories where there will be more dangers to overcome. In addition, new faces are added to the story.

The person in charge of Titanic, Terminator y Aliens, the return once again put chips in this story that marked a before and after in 3D cinema, but this time with a greater and long-term bet. Now without the surprise factor of the animation and the projection format, Cameron thinks of a story with more narrative challenges than a format where Jake, Neytiri and all of Pandora will have to tell their own story.

His team for this new adventure is screenwriter Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds) and Russell Carpenter’s photography (Titanic), accompanied by the original soundtrack by Simon Franglen (Titanis, Skyfall).

The sequel to the highest grossing movie of all time, Avatar: The Way of Waterwill be released in theaters on December 15, 2022.
