The most thriving and growing economies in North America, such as Jalisco and Utah, United States, seek to link up to have a connection between companies from both States. During this morning, the Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox, and members of the Council for Innovation, Growth and Equitable Sustainable Development (COINCyDES); also the Mexican consul in Utah, José Vicente Borjón.
César de Anda, coordinator of COINCyDES and executive president of the company Inova Alimentos, highlighted the meeting they had with Cox, who highlighted the work of the entity.
“The mandate of COINCyDES is to attract investment to Jalisco, promote greater economic growth and equitable development, the issues we sought with Utah was in the agricultural issue, to make an efficient approach, they have a very interesting health agency, there is Asica here, there is great production agriculture, the same in Utah, we established a point of agreement to bring companies from Utah closer to those from Jalisco”, commented the businessman.
Spencer Cox, governor of Utah, was pleased to attract companies from the capital Salt Lake City and other cities to Jalisco and have a connection that is not only economic, cultural and in harmony, leaving aside the differences as neighbors.
“It was a very important meeting for us, we have many businesses in Utah that want to do many things here, in the State of Jalisco, they are looking for someone to work with, we can also work together for both governments, every problem we have had, in the past of Mexico and the United States can solve it, with the opportunity to work together,” said the American politician.
Cox highlighted the work of his Entity, and why they are currently thinking of Jalisco as a strategic ally.
“Utah has the best economy in the United States, in the past 10 years, and we see something similar in Jalisco, especially with technology and agribusiness, we are growing a lot in Utah, faster than California, it is the first time in history in the United States that a state has had more technology jobs than California, Utah is already number 1, growth in technology jobs is also important in Jalisco,” he said.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Utah economy in the agri-food issue did not stop growing; in fact, it generated 1.8 billion dollars in revenue in this sector, according to information from the University of Arkansas System.
