In recent years, thanks to the pandemic, which has put us all at risk of unemployment. Did you know that you can make a partial withdrawal from your Afore for unemployment from your mobile phone?
Since the month of April 2021, the request for partial withdrawal due to IMSS unemployment through the Afore Móvil applicationwith the objective that the workers affiliated to said institute, who are not currently active, can carry out the process of withdrawing resources in a simple, informed manner and without the need to go to their Afore branch.
It should be noted that this is a simple process and you do not need to go to the offices.
Withdrawals due to unemployment rebound in this 2022
According to Consar, in the first three months of 2022, the ten Afores that make up the market reported an outflow of $5,135.53 million pesos, which meant a reduction of 6.1% per year.
In March 2022, partial withdrawals for unemployment in Afores reached a value of 2,025 million pesos, which implied an increase of 31% with respect to the level registered the previous month, according to data from the Consar (National Commission of the Retirement Savings System).
Afore Coppel was the administrator where the most unemployment withdrawals were registered this month, followed by XXI Banorte and Citibanamex.
The Consar warns that the unemployed who want to make a partial withdrawal from their Afore account should be cautious, since this will have a direct impact on the amount of their pension due to the lost interest and the discounted weeks of contributions.
Requirements to withdraw
Have contributed to the IMSS for at least two years.
Have had an Afore account for at least three years.
You have been unemployed for 46 calendar days.
You must not have made this withdrawal in the last five years.
Provide the details of a bank account and the CLABE.
Keep a complete electronic file with your Afore. (if you don’t have it, you have to go to your Afore and ask them to prepare it for you).
It is important to remember that the process is completely free and that, once approved, you will have the requested money within a maximum period of five working days.
Once the requirements are met, Consar recalled that workers with an Afore account have two options for unemployment withdrawal.
The first, known as “modality A”, if the Afore account has been opened for at least three years and a minimum of two years of contributions to the IMSS, you will receive 30 days of the last contribution base salary with a limit of 10 times the value of the Unit of Measurement and Update (UMA).
In the second option, called “modality B”. If your account has been opened for five years or more, the worker will receive the lesser of 90 days of salary, contribution base for the last 250 weeks or 11.5% of the resources accumulated in the retirement subaccount, severance pay in advanced age and old age (CVR).
To process the unemployment withdrawal from the Mobile Afore, the following steps must be followed: Once you are in the application, you must choose the Services menu.
Select the “IMSS Unemployment Retirement” option.
Capture a photo of your face to confirm your identity.
Select the corresponding type of withdrawal from the two existing options.
Carefully review the implications of making a partial withdrawal for unemployment.
Select the payment method: Payment order or CLABE account.
Capture the data and documents for the request (current official identification and bank account statement, if you request payment through a CLABE account).
