After his initiative for the electrical reform was rejected, the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) stated that he will not send a proposal on this matter, since it will be the task of the candidate who emerges from his movement in 2024.
In today’s “morning” session, AMLO insisted that this reform must be carried out democratically, with votes in Congress, because a way must be found to strengthen the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), so that the nation manages oil, the electricity industry and lithium.
He pointed out that in the remainder of his government he will not seek to present this initiative again and clarified that with the Electricity Industry Law, he can guarantee that the price of electricity will not increase.
“That the candidate that emerges from our movement raise it again, the same for oil… We must always continue fighting, in this case those who come will have to give it continuity,” he stressed.
