Since this Sunday morning, the Electrical Reform proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has been discussed in the Chamber of Deputies. More than 10 hours after the session began, some opposition deputies They have accused the Morena bench of unnecessarily prolonging the discussion of the reform.
At a press conference, Rubén Moreira, coordinator of the PRI in the Chamber of Deputies, accused a strategy for the vote to happen in the early hours of Monday, April 18.
“It is clear that the Let’s Make History bench tries to make the debate long so that the vote takes place when the presses are closed and try to minimize what is going to happen, but Go for Mexico and the PRI deputies are clear that we are going for the no, therefore that may already be the head of his notes, I say it with all due respect, the reform did not pass,” said the PRI.
But not only the PRI accused this practice, because on behalf of the Movimiento Ciudadano bench, the Jalisco deputy, Checo Barrera, sent a message through his Twitter account and assured that:
“The ruling Morena bloc and its allies have done everything to postpone the vote on the Electricity Reform. They want to tire us out, but the commitment we made is stronger.”
The session began at 10:00 in the morning and until now the debate continues with more than 80 registered speakers.
