After the Tonalá government announced that the Jalisco Housing Institute (Ijalvi) is among the property debtors, the agency reported that they will not allow assets to be seized.
“We will study each of the 627 accounts that are claimed to help the beneficiaries of Tonalá so that their heritage is not put at risk and that the Institute’s heritage continues to belong to the people of Jalisco”.
In addition, they remarked that “it is incredible that the media strategy of the Government of Tonalá is to point to Ijalvi as one of the main property debtors in the municipality just because Juan Antonio González is the director of the Institute,” they said in relation to González, who is former municipal president of Tonalá.
For its part, the government of the current mayor, Sergio Chávez, stressed that the City Council will not seek to seize or affect the 627 families from Tonalteca who acquired a house through the Jalisco Housing Institute, since its priority is to provide protection to people.
“It is said institution, chaired by Juan Antonio González Mora, the one that handed over the houses without having settled their property tax debts, so it is sought that the Jalisco Housing Institute be the one to settle their debts and not leave the problems behind. those who trusted in that institution”.
He added that It is proposed to Ijalvi that it settle its debts, which amount to 58 million pesos, and that it not intend to pass on that debt to the people who acquired homes through its support programs. “The Tonalá City Council cannot allow Ijalvi to stop paying.”
