Elizabeth García Vilchis, presenter of the “who’s who in the lies of the week” section of the “morning” conference of the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO), stated that “the buzzards came out to fly” before the information of an alert at the Cancun Airport for a false shooting.
In the “morning” conference this Wednesday at the National Palace, García Vilchis declared that a noise caused by the fall of some advertising towers caused panic and confusion at the Cancun Airport.
“Even without knowing what had happened, videos of people running circulated; very quickly the rumor spread that there had been detonations of a firearm, for which the airport employees declared a red code”said the person in charge of “the lies of the week”.
In a mocking tone, García Vilchis accused that the media and “experienced communicators” such as Joaquín López-Dóriga, Hannia Novell, Azucena Uresti and Carlos Loret de Mola, “of course”, they did not confirm the information and gave the shooting as true.
Loret de Mola evidences contradiction of García Vilchis
Despite the fact that García Vilchis affirmed that Loret de Mola did not verify the information and reported a shootout, the columnist showed how he spread information on his social networks that there were no signs of a shootout.
Even Loret de Mola, in her space on W Radio, interviewed the Quintana Roo prosecutor, Óscar Montes de Oca, who said that “There was no detonation or injuries at the Cancun Airport”.
“Pointing out this situation is not stigmatizing or attacking journalists or the media, it is simply drawing attention to a fact of public interest. We also ask ourselves: How long will the media, journalists, opinion leaders, influencers, take responsibility? versus citizenship?” added the presenter of the section.
