The Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) published the maximum prices for home gas for the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara (AMG) and the upward trend reported by the fuel for a month has finally been broken.
While last week the 30 kilo cylinder had a cost of 789.3 pesos, since yesterday it has dropped to 774.9.
In the context of the war between Russia and Ukraine, The price of a barrel of oil skyrocketed at the international level, for which household gas accumulated four consecutive weeks with significant increases in its cost.
Last July, the federal government published the CRE agreement A/024/2021, which established the regulation of the maximum prices of gas for sale to the end user.
“It did lower the price to 774.9 pesos, but it is still very high,” laments Gregorio López, a resident of the El Retiro neighborhood.
“We are lowering the use of the stove and we are also lowering the time we spend bathing, but preferably we bathe when it is hotter so as not to turn on the boiler,” he adds.
Ricardo Sheffield Padilla, head of the Federal Consumer Protection Office (Profeco), explains that the high costs of domestic gas in the country respond to the increase in oil prices.
The filling of the 60-liter stationary tank stood at 837 pesos since yesterday, when last week it was at 852.6 in the AMG.
In Mexico, the most expensive price is located in San Quintín, Baja California, where the 30 kilo cylinder reaches 889.8 pesos.
