During the “morning” of this Monday, the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) endorsed his support for the prosecutor Alejandro Gertz Manero after the broadcast of the audios where he discusses with the head of the Deputy Attorney General’s Office Specialized in Investigation of Federal Crimes , Juan Ramos López the case of the death of his brother and the project of the minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Alberto Pérez Dayán.
“I understand the personal, moral, human situation of the prosecutor because it is a matter linked to his brother, I understand it, so he wants justice to be done”
AMLO assured that he understands the moral and human situation of Gertz Manero, because he wants justice to be done and like him, he affirmed, “I do not trust some ministers”, since he said that there are judges who have not shown themselves to act with rectitude, and who act as judges of interest groups created in favor of minorities “in favor of money” not the people.
“I did not listen to them (the audios) but I do have basic information, and I think that the Court has to decide on this case. I understand the personal, moral, human situation of the prosecutor because it is an issue linked to his brother, I understand, so he wants justice to be done. The other party is defending its version of the facts, in any case it will be in the Judiciary where it will be resolved and the audios speak of the Judiciary, but the case has not yet been resolved.
“The fact that he has had access to this file when the other party has not been able to see it,” he was questioned, to which AMLO replied that it is the Judiciary that must solve this problem.
“Do you keep your trust in the prosecutor?” He continued to be questioned in the Treasury room.
“Yes, I have confidence in the prosecutor,” he replied.
Since last Thursday night three audios have circulated on YouTube, in which Gertz Manero and Ramos López are identified commenting on Pérez Dayán’s project, in the sense of granting an amparo to the sister-in-law and niece of Gertz Manero for the case of the death of Federico Gertz Manero, brother of the prosecutor.
In February, Pérez Dayán delivered the draft resolution to his fellow ministers of the Court and set a date for March 14 of this year to discuss it.
