Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev has made a gesture against the war in Ukraine at the ATP tournament in Dubai. He did that by writing ‘no war please’ on camera after winning his match in the semi-finals.
On Thursday, 24-year-old Rublev also pleaded for peace between his homeland and Ukraine.
The number seven in the world won his match against the Pole Hubert Hurkacz. Second-seeded Rublev will face Canada’s Denis Shapovalov or Czech qualifier Jiri Vesely in the final in Dubai. He eliminated Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals.
