President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) does not give up on his intention that some journalists make their income known, after the controversy generated by the accusations against his son José Ramón López Beltrán.
This morning, AMLO insisted that “famous” journalists disclose how much they earn and who pays themafter pointing out that he is absolutely sure that there is no conflict of interest in the case of his son José Ramón López Beltrán and that a “scandal” was made.
In its press conference “morning” this Thursday at the National Palace, López Obrador once again asked the journalist Carlos Loret de Mola how much money he earns a year.
“But I am going to continue asking them to make known how much these hitters earn”he expressed.
“The Transparency Institute does not want that I transparent the documents that I have, where it is shown that this man has income, and I am only talking about his earnings and not his assets, of 35 million 200 thousand pesos last year; that is, at a rate of three million pesos per month”.
“But It’s not just him, there are other celebrities who do the same, maybe not so gross, more subtle, but for that very reason they may earn much more; that is, not three million, they earn 10 or 15 million pesos a month and they should disclose how much they earn for ethical reasons, “he declared when naming Jorge Ramos, León Krauze, Joaquín López-Dóriga and Carmen Aristegui.
López Obrador also charged that the organization Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity receives money from the United States government.
“Those are very important issues, because if not, imagine the damage they cause and it is not a personal matter, it is that we, millions of Mexicans, are fighting for a transformation, we want to banish corruption from Mexico, we are millions and if they attack us, it is because they want that transformation process to fail”he added.
AMLO: I am absolutely sure that there is no conflict of interest in the case of my son
Mentioning the case of the fire at the ABC Nursery and pointing out “never more impunity, never again hiding things, telling the truth, not lying and not protecting relatives, not nepotism”, President López Obrador He said that he is absolutely certain that there is no conflict of interest in his son’s case. Jose Ramon Lopez Beltran.
“Now that José Ramón came out, I was sure that there was no conflict of interest, I am absolutely sure, but in any case I ordered that the investigation be opened or that the complaints filed be answered. Which owes nothing fears nothing”López Obrador said in his conference “tomorrow 2 this Thursday at the National Palace.
He added that he instructed the director of Pemex, Octavio Romero Oropeza, who will integrate the investigation into the opinion given by the Baker Hughes company.
He recalled that he also requested that the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) deliver the file of his brother Pío López Obrador to the National Electoral Institute (INE).
“I am a supporter of transparency, out of conviction”assured.
President López Obrador also accused that the rent of his son’s house in Houston “inflated” him in the media.
“And now this cynical journalist, who according to Carmen Aristegui was a professional, dares to say that it was not an investigation, that it was a political matter, to admit it. But it is always what I have said, the maxim of the underworld of journalismslander when it does not stain, smudge”, he accused.
“Let’s see if we reason it out a bit. How am I going to be, regardless of the fact that I have never done it in my life because what I consider most important is honesty. But imagine how basic it is that I give contracts to a company, that If they ask me what his name is (Baker Hughes), I couldn’t answer them right now.”
“I have never heard of that company, I don’t know anyone from that company because I do not deal with that type of companies, it does not correspond to me. Sometimes I receive a company when they come to tell me that they are going to invest in Mexico and that they want to talk to me (…) But do I want them to be given a contract or extended contracts so that they give them, without payment, or rent paying a house to my son? I mean, it’s common sense and yet a big scandal,” she said.
