Fred Hechinger may be playing Kraven’s brother, Chameleon, in the upcoming Kraven the Hunter movie.
Deadline reports the news. You may know Hechinger from Netflix’s The Woman in the Window, HBO’s The White Lotus, or his role in Fear Street. At the moment, the actor can be seen in Pam & Tommy as Seth Warshavsky. In addition, he will soon play in Pale Blue Eye where he can be seen alongside Christian Bale.
Chameleon’s real name is Dmitiri Smerdyakov and he is Kraven’s half-brother. He is seen as a master of disguise and is able to imitate almost anyone. In the Marvel comics, Chameleon has impersonated the likes of Captain America, Bruce Banner, Spider-Man and other important heroes. Hechinger was set to join Aaron Taylor Jonson (Kraven) for the film. In the comics, the relationship between the two characters is “not optimal to say the least.”
Kraven the Hunter is set to hit theaters in January 2023 and is part of Sony’s Spider-Man universe. This also includes Venom and Morbius. The film is directed by JC Chandor (Triple Frontier, A Most Violent Year) and written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man, Uncharted) and Richard Wenk (Lethal Weapon 5, The Equilizer).
