Through a series of Administrative Decisions that were published this Monday in the Official Gazette, the Government authorized the opening of new international safe corridors in the provinces of Buenos Aires and Río Negro, thus adding to the entry channels to the country that They were already enabled since border restrictions began to be relaxed.

On this occasion, the Yacht Club Argentino, located in the North Basin of the Port of Buenos Aires, was approved for the entry of people from abroad; the Cruise Terminal of the Port of Mar de Plata and the Binational River Terminal of Tigre, and the “Teniente Luis Candelaria” International Airport in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche and the “Pérez Rosales”-Lago Frías border crossing.

The openings, signed by the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur, and the Ministers of Social Development, Juan Zabaleta, and of the Interior, Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro, will be subject to compliance with specific protocols that were developed for each of those places. .

For example, for the Yacht Club Argentino, a “Contingency Plan for the entry of recreational or sports boats from ports outside the Argentine Republic” was designed, which, among other points, establishes that the captain of each ship will be responsible for complying with health regulations, while the Argentine Yachting Federation will be in charge of interacting with local authorities and providing them with all the information they require.

In all cases, the safe corridors must adjust, in addition to the provisions of the aforementioned protocols, “to the current national regulations on the entry of people” into the country, which was recently simplified for certain travelers.

Since last Saturday, Argentines and foreigners residing in the country who have had the complete coronavirus vaccination schedule for at least 14 days no longer need to present a negative PCR to be able to re-enter the national territory.

The measure also establishes that in the case of Argentines who have resided abroad for at least the last year, the “complete vaccination schedule” will be understood as defined by the health authorities of the country of residence.

In any case, people who are fully immunized must complete – at least 48 hours before the start of the trip without observations of the health control – a sworn statement required by the National Directorate of Migration.

In turn, they will have to present the certificate that certifies having completed the vaccination scheme “at least 14 days before entering the country or their exemption, which must also appear on the affidavit, without the need to accompany the aforementioned certificate. in the statement.”

On the contrary, those who have not completed the scheme, in order to re-enter Argentina, must have a negative PCR test or an antigen test carried out in the country of origin within 72 and 48 hours prior to the start of the trip. , respectively, and comply with a 7-day isolation, counted from the day after taking the PCR or antigen test.

They must also carry out the quarantine provided for in article 7 for 7 days from the day after taking the PCR or antigen test. “The cost of the tests to which reference has been made will be borne by the person who enters the country,” clarifies the Administrative Decision.

In mid-January, the “Governor Horacio Guzmán” International Airport, located 33 kilometers southeast of the center of the city of San Salvador de Jujuy, the Jama land border crossing, which joins the place of the same name, was also enabled as safe corridors. with the Chilean commune of San Pedro de Atacama, and the La Quiaca International Bridge, which connects the homonymous Argentine city with the Bolivian municipality of Villazón.
