Beverly Vega, 24, was imprisoned in the prison in Cholula after defending herself against alleged sexual assault by an Uber driver.
The Control Judge made the decision during a hearing held last Monday, January 24, at the House of Justice of San Andrés Cholula, where he charged Beverly with the crime of injury.
The judicial authority will decide whether or not to link it to the process on Friday, January 28 in the morning.
The relatives of the young woman from Tierra Blanca, Veracruz, ask for justice on social networks because they assure that she hit the Uber operator because he tried to retain her.
According to the complaints on social networks by feminist groups and human rights organizations, on January 21 the young woman left her house to see her residence advisor, to move, she requested the Uber service, upon arrival at the destination the driver lowered the car insurance and rolled up the windows.
They detailed that Beverly Vega attacked him to get off and some police elements secured her after being reported by the Uber driver.
She is currently in custody, and Governor Miguel Barbosa Huerta asked the authorities to carry out a thorough investigation of the young woman’s case.
