Qatar 2022 Qualifying Position Table
Today the 15th date of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers began with important matches whose results will bring some teams closer to or further away from the World Cup dream. The table of positions plays an important role for the fans, who hope that today the possibility of qualifying will take hold and here we detail how each of the teams is located in this qualifying stage.
The date began with the Ecuador vs. Brazil in Quito. The ‘Tri’ was one step away from qualifying for Qatar after drawing 1-1 with the ‘canarinha’, classified for the world cup, is first in the table with 36 points, while the ‘northerns’ are in third place with 24 units. Casemiro opened the scoring after 5 minutes for the Brazilians and Félix Torres scored the equalizer. The Ecuadorians arrive in Lima with the conviction of confirming their pass to the World Cup against Peru.
At 6:00 pm (Peruvian time), Paraguay will face Uruguay at the General Pablo Rojas stadium. The ‘guaraníes’ and ‘charrúas’ will risk their lives this afternoon. Both have 13 and 16 points, respectively, and are in the non-classification zone, but still have a chance of qualifying, but they depend on the result of Peru vs. Colombia.
An hour later and closing the day (7:15 pm), Chile will seek to add three to an Argentina already qualified and without its top star Lionel Messi. Chile is in sixth position with 16 points and the ‘albicelestes’ are second with 29 units. The duel will be played at the height of Calama and will have several casualties in both teams due to the cases of COVID-19.

THE ABSENTS
Lionel Messi, Neymar and Arturo Vidal will be the great absentees from this double date of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers.
Argentina will play against Chile and Colombia without Lionel Messi, who was not called so that he can rest after having dealt with the COVID-19 infection that affected his health.
In Brazil, Tite manages several alternatives in a scheme without Neymar (injured), although he will not jump into the pool either because finishing as leader is almost an obligation for the seleçao.
Uruguay, meanwhile, will face Paraguay for the first time under the command of another coach. After 15 years, the historic Oscar Tabárez was dismissed in November as Celeste’s coach, taking home a world record leading a national team and other achievements such as the title of the Copa América-2011 and qualifications for South Africa-2010 ( where he finished in fourth place), Brazil-2014 and Russia-2018, although at this stage he was unable to direct a team now at risk of skipping the World Cup in Qatar.
