The Dutch futsal players failed to reach the quarter-finals at the European Championship. The Orange lost a 2-0 lead against Serbia and lost its last group match in Amsterdam 2-3.
The Netherlands knew that a victory over Serbia would be enough, if in the other group match Ukraine would not beat world champions Portugal or would beat Portugal with at least six goals. Even a draw would be enough if Ukraine didn’t beat Portugal.
But due to the loss in the Ziggo Dome filled with 1,250 spectators, the result of the other game was not important (Portugal won 1-0) and the Netherlands is eliminated.
