Femicide in SJL: young university student was murdered while inside a spa

A new case of femicide in Peru, Yomaira Sulay Morón Morón, 21, was shot three times in the head when she was inside a spa. Lugar is located in block 10 of Gran Chimú avenue, in the Zarate urbanization, in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho.

According to 24 Hours, the young woman was in the spa and was attended by the beauty salon staff. Her boyfriend was also there when a subject aggressively entered the premises to directly attack the 21-year-old woman who was in her last years as a university student. He fired three bullets at him that ended his life.

Immediately afterwards, after committing the femicide, the criminal fled on a motorcycle with his accomplice, while the young woman was helped and taken in a patrol car to the Hipólito Unanue hospital, but died on the way due to the severity of her injuries. A recording broadcast by the media shows how the Police transferred the young woman to the hospital where she arrived lifeless.

Witnesses assured the media that the hitman went straight to kill Yomaira. “They came in, shot him and told him ‘you’re going to die, you know you’re going to die.’ It was there when they shot her in the head to kill her,” a witness told the press. “We are dismayed, we do not really know what has happened, we assume that she has been confused because she is a girl, a student, she came from home”added the victim’s uncle.

“I went to see her and the girl with the headshots was already dying. They were two Venezuelans who fled on a red motorcycle and did not have a license plate,” added the witness.

MURDER IN COMAS

A mother of a family was shot four times outside her home located on Av. Revolución, in the Comas district. She was sitting on the sidewalk watching her two-year-old son play when a gunman shot her. She was taken to the nearest hospital but died due to the severity of her injuries.

According to Latina, the victim was identified as Sadia Lucero Coti Ríos. “She has been sitting like she always does. (…) They say that she has been sitting there with the baby playing, suddenly the boy came and shot her. He has come walking and has stopped in front of her”, detailed a neighbor.

The morning newspaper added that Lucero Coti’s family suspects that the ex-partner would have sent someone to kill her. “My sister has had no problems with anyone. And he knows it well, he is the sick one”, the victim’s sister denounced. They noted that the father of her two-year-old son constantly harassed her.
