Fernando del Rincón interviews Pedro Castillo for CNN en Español
The President of the Republic of Peru, Pedro Castillo, will give an interview to the program ‘Conclusions’ by journalist Fernando del Rincón on CNN en Español this Monday night. The announcement was made by the international news channel and there he will have to respond to questions about his management in these first six months of having assumed the position of president after defeating Keiko Fujimori in the second round.
The dialogue will be part of the interview block of the Fernando del Rincón program, which a few months ago also spoke with, at that time, the candidate for second vice president, Dina Boluarte in a tense conversation.
Everything indicates that the meeting with CNN was recorded, according to the words of Castillo himself this afternoon at an event with artisanal fishermen in Chorrillos.
“This morning I had an interview. Well, more than an interview, I was surprised by some questions that were asked of me, which have nothing important for the country. They asked me about Bruno Pacheco, that Sarratea, when we have those things very clear. We have not come here to steal from the country. We have come to contribute to the country”, he commented.
This will be the third interview that Castillo Terrones will give to a media outlet. Previously, he spoke with the weekly ‘Hildebrandt en sus trece’ and Nicolás Lúcar in which he denied knowing Karelim López and meeting with businessmen outside the Government Palace.
According to CNN’s preview, the interview will revolve around the confrontation between Castillo and the Congress of the Republic, instability, his level of popularity, among other topics.

INTERVIEWS
President Pedro Castillo took six months to talk to the press, but he has not considered Peru’s traditional media, only a weekly newspaper and a nationwide radio station.
To ‘Hildebrandt in her thirteen’, Castillo confessed that he did not know the businesswoman Karelim López and that his visits to Breña’s house were only for coffee with friends who welcomed him during the campaign and that is why there is no list of people with whom he allegedly met.
“Mrs. Karelim López is not my friend… She is a person who, like any citizen, joins an entity, joins the Palace and we are not dragged by any friendly ties, any employment ties…”, stressed
Regarding the meetings outside the Government Palace, the president said he had a clear conscience and that there was nothing strange in his visits to Sarratea’s house. “What I am clear about is that there has been a whole set-up, an attempt to break this government, but the facts are going to show the opposite. I did not have to assume any responsibility, I have been calm. Yes, I have started to think about the people who approach you”.
He took advantage of the conversation with the journalist César Hildebrandt to clarify that there is no list that has recorded his visits to the controversial house. “There is no list because it is not a functional office of the government.”
Meanwhile, he indicated to Nicolás Lúcar that becoming head of state was a dream, but that he was not prepared to be president, although he considered that this was part of a struggle.
“I was not prepared to be president of the Republic. Nobody trained me. Not even having been elected, like the other rulers, I had days of induction. But it is part of the fight. I keep learning. (…) I am here for Peru and I am going to leave through the front door. Just as the country has put me”, he said on Successful radio.
