The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) reported that it dismissed an official from that body who threatened to beat up and called a victim of torture a “faggot.” The above occurred after the video went viral on social media where what he says to the man was evidenced.
The CNDH said that “the only commitment with the new CNDH is with the victims.”
He explained that the threats and intimidation towards Óscar Kábata, who is the man attacked by the official, would have happened on December 21, 2021, the date since Ángel Gómez Garza, general coordinator of Administration and Finance, was dismissed. However, the facts were just released.
Through a statement, the agency stated that its action “in this particular case, was immediate and forceful, since acts such as those denounced on that occasion are unacceptable.”
CNDH official threatens man
A video was broadcast on social networks where it is seen that Ángel Gómez Garza, an official of the CNDH, together with three other people allegedly assaults Óskar Kábata, who was a victim of torture by the Army in 2009 in Chihuahua. He also threatens to beat him up and calls him a “faggot”.
In the recording, four subjects are seen, three of whom wear face masks and flank a fourth subject -Ángel Gómez Garza-, who wears a white shirt and dark pants and is the one who verbally attacks Óskar Kábata and confronts him.
Óskar Kabata tells what happened

In an interview for an internet news portal, Óscar Kábata commented that at that time went to Mexico City to demonstrate and request a resolution to his case, which happened in 2009. He commented that he was physically attacked by four people who work in that instance.
Óscar Kábata identified only Ángel Gómez Garza, senior official of the CNDH. However, he reported thatviolence was present from the beginning. From the moment he arrived at the CNDH building, he was treated with hostility.
Kabata was the victim of kidnapping and torture in 2009 by members of the Mexican Army. In that year he implemented the Chihuahua Joint Operation in Ciudad Juárez, under the charge of General Felipe de Jesús Espitia.
