The discovery of the body of a baby in the dump of the Puebla prison caused outrage among the population, but also raised various unknowns regarding the identity of the baby, how and why he was admitted to the prison, as well as those responsible for the case.
From the above, this is what is known about it: The baby was called Tadeo and was born on October 4, 2020 in a hospital in the State of Mexico, according to a death certificate presented by his parents in the Puebla Prosecutor’s Office.
The minor presented intestinal problems, so on January 5 he died in a hospital in Mexico City. One day after his death, on January 6, little Tadeo was buried by his parents in a pantheon located in the Iztapalapa mayor’s office, in Mexico City.
They find the baby’s body in the Puebla prison
On January 10, the body of Tadeo -still unidentified- was located in a garbage dump of the Center for Social Rehabilitation (CERESO) of San Miguel, Puebla.
The discovery was made by one of the people deprived of their liberty who remains in the CERESO, while looking for reusable materials to sell inside the prison, as reported days later by Saskia Niño de Rivera, president of the ReInserta organization.
That same day, the Attorney General of the State of Puebla lifted the body, which presented a wound to the abdomenn. On January 14, Saskia Niño de Rivera denounced the discovery of the three-month-old baby and pointed out that the minor was admitted on a family visit.
One of the hypotheses of the discovery of the body was that could have been used to bring drugs into the prison, this due to the seven-centimeter incision in the area of the abdomen that the corpse presented.
Tadeo’s parents denounce exhumation
Upon hearing about the case in the media, Tadeo’s parents suspected that it was their baby, who had been buried days before; the trigger for the suspicion was the bracelet that the baby was wearing on his left wrist and that had the surnames Ayala Peralta, the same as his little deceased.
The minor’s parents went to the cemetery where their baby was buried, but found the grave empty. It was in the same cemetery that they received threats not to report the incident.
However, Tadeo’s parents went to the CDMX Prosecutor’s Office to file the complaint, so an investigation was started to determine if the possible exhumation of the three-month-old child coincided with the body found in the Puebla prison.
Identify the person responsible
This Saturday, January 22, the Puebla Prosecutor’s Office announced the identification, through the analysis of security videos and the visit log, both of the people who brought baby Tadeo’s body to the prison and of the person who deposited it in the site’s garbage container.
In addition, the genetic test determined that there is correspondence between the body of the baby found in the dumpster of the Puebla Penitentiary Center and the two people who claim to be his parents.
Baby’s body is handed over to its parents
Saskia Niño de Rivera confirmed that baby Tadeo is already with his family after the Puebla Prosecutor’s Office handed over the body to his parents after carrying out the corresponding legal expert reports.
