French adventurer Jean-Jacques Savin found dead in his boat while trying to row across the Atlantic. This 75-year-old former military parachutist had managed to cross this same ocean in 2019, aboard a giant barrel. His new adventure had begun on January 1, in the south of Portugal. He had not been heard from since Thursday night, when he activated his distress beacons. In an interview, he had said that for him this was a challenge with which he wanted to set himself up as “the rector of the Atlantic” and “mock old age”.
