Jalisco turned yellow at the epidemic risk traffic light of the Ministry of Health, after almost three months of staying green.
In its recent update, which will be in force from January 24 to February 6, the federal agency increased the level of risk of contagion to “medium”, although the State registers the highest number of cases so far in the health contingency.
In the previous spike in infections, Jalisco reached red at the epidemic traffic light from August 9 to 22, 2021. On those days, the Radar system recorded peaks of up to 1,886 cases; Currently, that figure has almost doubled with 3,508 infections.
The Secretariat had kept the State in green, low risk of contagion, since November 1 of last year.
In terms of hospitalizations, the database of the Jalisco Health Secretariat accounts for 673 hospitalized patients; 589 in public hospitals and 84 in private hospitals.
Occupancy rose to 42.19% of general COVID-enabled beds. The greatest demand is for hospitals of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) with 356 patients.
