zoom with Carlo Gurovich on the Nisman case
The journalist and author of the book “Operación Pajarito”, Carlos Gurovich, led a talk on Tuesday in which he provided details of the investigation he has been carrying out for 7 years on the attack on the AMIA and the death of Alberto Nisman. There he showed unknown photos of the case, recounted his meetings with the AMIA prosecutor, with key players in the world of intelligence, the ex-wife of the official and federal judge, Sandra Arroyo Salgado, and his theory about Argentina’s relationship with Iran.
Due to his investigation and as a result of the declaration of the unconstitutionality of the Memorandum with Iran, in November 2013, Gurovich was received by Nisman at the UFI AMIA. That is why he has footage, photos and had access to documents from that time. As an anecdote, the writer recalled that the room in which they met had “more than a million and a half pages” with information that the prosecutor remembered by heart.
The first photo that he exhibited exclusively is the record of that meeting with Nisman and the file with all the documentation of the case for the AMIA attack and the Memorandum signed with Iran.

During his presentation, he showed classified documents revealing that “from 1979 to 1999 the Iranians committed more than 162 assassinations and bombings. What happened in Argentina was part of the plan for those who stood in the way of Iran. It was not an isolated case, it was part of the strategy to eliminate his opponents and those who think in his strategic path.
He also recalled the time that former Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman denied having witnessed a secret meeting in Aleppo, Syria, as part of the negotiation for the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran, with his Iranian counterpart, Ali Akbar Salehi, in 2012. However, he showed the publication of a Syrian magazine from February 2011 where it was reported that President Bashar al-Assad announced that he would change the place where he would hold official meetings and that, at that precise moment, he met with his foreign minister and with Timerman. “This meeting was denied as part of the cover-up so that no one knows about the deal behind Nisman and the secret service,” the journalist insisted.
After Nisman’s death, Gurovich was able to meet with Sandra Arroyo Salgado. The judge and former wife of the prosecutor detailed her theory about Nisman’s alleged murder thanks to the photos and blood stains left on the victim’s hands.
In addition, he shared a dialogue he had with Antonio Stiuso, who assured him that on the day of the prosecutor’s death there was a court order regarding his whereabouts, with the alleged goal of “killing” him. “They did the same with my colleague Damian Pachter so that what happened in that agreement with Iran is not known,” the writer denounced.
Near the end of his talk, the book’s author showed a second “never-before-seen” photo of prosecutor Nisman. “It is surprising, Nisman who was always accused of being a Zionist and accused of being an Israeli spy is sitting with the Israeli flags. This photo has never been seen before.”

“Operación Pajarito” is a novel about the death of federal prosecutor Alberto Nisman, on January 18, 2015 in the bathroom of his Le Parc apartment after denouncing then-president Cristina Kirchner for signing the memorandum of understanding with Iran. It is “a fantasy, it is the fiction of a possible reality” but “based on elements of real life, Nisman’s investigation of the AMIA attack and also based on the memorandum of understanding with Iran and the writings left by Nisman”, as described by the author himself.
For Gurovich, “the book is a mixture of fiction and reality”. “The reader has to overcome the challenge of knowing which characters are real and which are pure fantasy. To verify it, there are the QR codes that the book has, which allow us to confirm that there are real people and so that they can imagine if it could have been as I tell it or that each one proposes a different theory.
