A next-gen version of Apex Legends may be on the agenda, and a native PS5 version of the game has been reported on PSN.
A tweet from the PlayStation Game Size Twitter account, noting the PSN database for new additions to games and file sizes, suggests a PS5 version is in the backend of the service. It would be 80GB in size. The current forwards-compatible PS4 version of the game is about 55GB in size.

A next-gen release for Apex Legends has been in production for some time, and Respawn has been talking about the possibility in several Reddit AMAs. in February said the developer that it aims for 120 FPS before the update, but explained that it is looking at multiple features to find balance in the game.
Then the developer talked about the update during a separate AMA in August. When asked about a release window for the game, the developer said “I wish I could share something, but nothing is final yet. […]. Have faith, we’re excited about it too.”
Analyst MauroNL agreed that a next-gen update was imminent and suggested that the PS5 version would feature 120FPS, improved resolution and higher graphic fidelity, and that an equivalent would appear on the Xbox Series.
