The federal deputy, Gabriel Quadri, was fired from a live CNN interview in Spanish after giving his opinion on transgender people, a fact that was classified by the driver as hate speech
The former presidential candidate was invited along with the Morenista deputy, Salma Luévano Luna, to give his opinion on the attacks against transsexual people in Mexico during a CNN broadcast in Spanish.
In his speech on the show, Quadri tried to defend his position and ensured that he was not promoting hate speech against the transgender community.
“No one is promoting hate speech, that is a fantasy and it seems to me that the one promoting hate speech is her (…) Do not exaggerate, do not promote lies“, Dijo Quadri.
“If you come here to spread your hate speech this is not the channel, go to another channel”said the host of the CNN program.
CNDH condemns expressions
Last Thursday, the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) condemned the expressions that deputy Gabriel Quadri de la Torre made against the LGBTTTIQ+ community.
Through a statement, the CNDH assured that the transphobic demonstrations of the deputy of the National Action Party violate the dignity and human rights of LGBTTTIQ+ people, for which the body urged legislators, authorities and the population in general to avoid this type of discriminatory statements and actions.
