This Friday, January 14, a car crashed on the Vía Expresa, at the height of Canaval and Moreyra from south to north, in San Isidro. The car was completely destroyed when it hit the Metropolitano lane.
According to the images shared by Panamericana, the security routes that surround this lane crossed the car. The people on board were miraculously saved. So far only one injured has been reported, who has already been transferred to the nearest health center.
There are no further details on the condition of the people inside or the reason for the accident.

CAUSES OF THE MAIN TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS IN PERU
In the last report of the year from the Ombudsman’s Office, it was reported that in the last five years more than 14,000 people died in approximately 421,000 traffic accidents. It is also detailed that more than 272,000 citizens were injured or in a situation of severe disability.

According to Montoya, speeding is one of the main causes of accidents in Peru. He also assured that the largest number of deaths are recorded on the roads, despite the fact that fewer accidents occur in these areas.
“Speed is the leading cause of accidents, causing around 30 percent of accidents in the country. On the road there is a greater mortality, despite the fact that 4 percent of traffic accidents occur, it causes 27 percent of deaths “, He said.
Something that aggravates the situation is that there are not many road safety measures on the roads throughout the Peruvian territory, for which he urged the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), to take immediate action so that more lives are lose.
The representative of the Ombudsman made a call to the population to follow traffic regulations, and to pedestrians to comply with the measures governed by the Government. This is because, on many occasions, it is also the passers-by who are not cautious and cross the roads or wait for cars at unauthorized stops.

For its part, the Superintendence of Land Transport of People, Cargo and Merchandise (Sutran) reported a total of 1,674 traffic accidents that have occurred on roads nationwide from January to April 2021. As a result, 259 people lost their life and 2,036 were injured.
