MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Desmond Bane scored 21 points, Jaren Jackson Jr. added 20 and the Memphis Grizzlies rallied in the final minutes to earn their 11th straight win, winning 116- 108 over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Ja Morant finished with 16 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, and John Konchar had 15 points and 17 rebounds, the latter a career high.
Anthony Edwards was the best offensive player for the Timberwolves with 30 points. D’Angelo Russell had 29 points and six assists, and Karl-Anthony Towns added 25 points and nine rebounds.
The match was very different from the previous occasion in which both clubs met. The Timberwolves won 138-95 on Nov. 20, and the Grizzlies lost that time by the biggest difference of the season.
In Thursday’s game, neither team had a double-digit lead until late in the game.
Both teams exchanged the lead with four minutes remaining.
Brandon Clarke (14 points) put the Grizzlies ahead for good with two free throws with 1:47 left. Memphis extended it with a layup from Bane, and Konchar added it with a 3-pointer with 1:01 remaining.
Memphis, which struggled in the first half, let loose on the attack with 11 points from Morant, which were part of the offense in which the Grizzlies outscored Minnesota 37-24. This was Memphis’ biggest lead in the game before going 90-84 in the fourth quarter.
