The CES 2022 held in Las Vegas is undoubtedly one of the most important technology events of the year, it is there where companies present their most surprising innovations and concepts, with more than 2,200 exhibiting companies, it is not surprising that some of the presentations are get out of the usual household devices and enter another field, as is the case of some companies that decided to bet on pets and present their most ingenious inventions to improve the quality of life of these animal companions.

Smart collars stood out at the event, since it is always a latent need for owners to understand more about what happens to their pets. As a response to the above, Catlog appears, designed by the company RABO Inc, which consists of a collar that uses weight-sensing technology to analyze cats’ daily movements. Using focus points such as vibrations, the device produces data that is synced and sent to the Catlog website, which compiles a report of your cat’s daily activity.

Along the same lines, the company Invoxia made its own design for dogs, although more than a collar it consists of a harness that controls the location, heart rate and respiratory status of the animals.

Together with the Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute, iPetWear was created, a module that does not consist of a collar but is attached to them and uses microphysiological sensors to monitor the health and activity of pets, the information is transmitted and shared to the owner’s mobile device via Bluetooth.

Companies like Lengualess decided to go further, as their invention Inuphaty is presented as a “psychological health monitor for dogs” which fits like a harness or a small backpack and uses data such as heart rate, breathing of animals to detect a series of mental conditions that animals can go through such as stress, fear, sadness, among others, although Inuphaty works in a similar way to the previous ones, the company seeks to go further and provide an approach to what your animal may be feeling. dog.

Sometimes a cat’s behavior can be a bit tricky in the sense that felines are sometimes very adept at hiding health problems until it’s too late; however, companies like PurrSong have created a number of cat grooming devices.

In the first place, Lavviebox is presented as an intelligent litter box that monitors the cat’s trips to the bathroom, reporting factors such as the weight and nature of its depositions, in the same way LavvieWater acts, which is a water dispenser that performs a monitoring of the water consumption of the animals and sends the data, finally, LavvieTAG appears, a physical activity sensor that tracks the habits of walking, running, sleeping and eating. The three devices complement each other and send their information to the ‘PurrSong’ app.

Lastly, Wagz Tagz designed a kind of small cards, which, connected to the ‘Freedom Smart Dog Collar’ smart collar, act like a fence, because if the collar detects that you are approaching a place where you placed one of the locators, it will send a small warning of a pull to the harness, telling the animal not to approach, which could be useful to restrict some areas to pets such as furniture.

Going to a veterinarian is always the best thing to do if you notice strange behavior in your pet, but many of these devices work as early warnings to avoid more serious complications and illnesses in the future.
