In an extraordinary session of the general council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) it was approved to request the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) a budget extension of 1,738 million pesos, in order to face the deficit that the electoral authority still has and carry out the revocation of the mandate of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
The project notes that The Treasury must inform the INE, no later than January 31, of its decision, since it is necessary to continue with the exercise organization process.
In a new review, the INE reduced the cost of the revocation of AMLO’s mandate to three thousand 306 million pesos. The initial proposal was for three thousand 830 million pesos.
The request for the expansion of the budget was requested by the INE after the evidence, in terms of the count of supporting signatures, shows that the number required by law will be reached shortly, so it is almost imminent that the call for a revocation of mandate is issued, considered the president counselor, Lorenzo Córdova. “The revocation of mandate goes”, he claimed.
During the debate on this point, a discussion was generated in which councilors, representatives of parties and councilors of the legislative power, questions and accusations were launched due to the criminal complaint that the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Gutiérrez, presented against six members of the INE council.
