Peak and plate, 400 checkpoints and millions of vehicles on the roads: this is how the return plan is progressing

This holiday Monday, January 10, it is estimated that the majority of cars that went on a trip through the country’s roads will return to their homes, so the Government and road authorities have begun to implement some strategies so that mobility in the country does not collapse due to the flow of ties.

In this sense, it must be remembered that since yesterday the National Army assigned 10,000 soldiers to guarantee security on the country’s roads during this festive bridge of the Three Kings, distributed in about 400 checkpoints to accompany the police. Furthermore, traffic on both January 8 and 9 flowed with apparent ease. However, for today it is estimated that some difficulties may arise due to the number of cars on the roads and because it is the last day of rest for many.

So the authorities announced some measures that will be applied from noon. In the case of Bogotá, one of the cities that is most congested because it welcomes millions of citizens, the regional peak and plate measure will be applied that will work in shifts: until noon, all cars will be able to enter, but from 12 pm to 4 pm only cars with an even plate (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8) will be able to enter; and from 4 pm to 8 pm, only cars with an odd license plate (1, 3, 5, 7, and 9) may enter.

Invías announced that there will be backflow on the Bogotá – La Vega – Guaduas road, km 2 + 000 (Icoltrans sector) until km 0 + 000 (Puente de Guadua) until 10:00 pm. Likewise, it will be done on the Glorieta de Mosquera – La Mesa sector until 11:00 pm.

Faced with the plan to return to the main cities of the country, the Major of the Police, Mauricio Díaz Castro, who spoke to all citizens through the institution’s social networks, commented on the importance of refraining from driving when drinks have been consumed. alcoholic, do not exceed speed limits, respect other traffic regulations and ensure that the vehicle is up to date in its mechanical technical inspection before beginning the return to their homes.

On the part of the ANI, in case of an emergency, it explained that travelers can contact the concession in charge of the road (at the number printed on the back of the toll tickets), or at the posts with SOS telephones located next to it. along the road, to request ambulance or tow truck service.

Likewise, Invías explained that in order to have direct access to road status information permanently, it will be possible to communicate with the entity through the free line # 767 and the WhatsApp line (+57) 1746767.

6:00 p.m.:

Bogotá: From the South Highway corridor there is a high traffic flow towards Soacha-Bogotá. The increase in traffic flow continues along the Calle 80 corridor. Approximately 9,000 vehicles are expected to enter the La Calera corridor and 7,000 leave; so far there is a normal flow of vehicles.

Medellín: the entrance to the Oriente Tunnel through the Las Palmas dual carriageway is closed to start the unidirectional operation in the Rionegro-Medellín direction until 8:00 pm.

5:00 p.m.:

Bogotá: the Calle 80 corridor at the height of the guadua bridge increases traffic flow. From the road corridor to La Calera, optimal mobility conditions. In the Calle 13 corridor, good mobility conditions in both directions.

Valle del Cauca: The Valle Department of Mobility and Transportation announced that 473 people have been sanctioned for failing to comply with traffic regulations on different roads in the department. The mobilization of 200 thousand vehicles is stipulated on this festive bridge. So far there has been good behavior on the tracks. The collapse that still persists at kilometer 60 on the road between Mediacanoa and Virginia is already being worked on with machinery and there is passage through a single lane.

4:00 p.m.:

Bogotá: from this moment until 8:00 pm, only vehicles with an odd license plate will be able to enter the capital. The others may do so after this time. On the other hand, Nicolás Estupiñán, Secretary of Mobility, delivered a report from the Chusaca tollbooth in which he pointed out that of the 320,000 vehicles that are expected, 35,000 have entered.

2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.:

Bogotá: good mobility conditions are registered in the entrance corridors to the capital through the South and North Motorways, 80 ‘, 13 and 7 streets, and the Calera road.

Cali: at this time the Ministry of Mobility provides support in the return plan to citizens with the Ministry of Security and Justice and Police.

12:00 p.m.

5:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.:

Bogota:

They suspend a section of the Boyacá avenue bike path between the Aurora neighborhood and El Tintan park, to guarantee better mobility.

Road to the plain: it is estimated that more than 60 thousand vehicles will be mobilized on the road and the authorities have already deployed through the municipality of Meta, in addition, they are sharing a little llanera music with the travelers.

Norte de Santander: Around 2,000 soldiers were deployed to guard the department’s roads.

Antioquia: the closure of the road that leads from Medellín to Quibdó, at kilometer 76, La Cepa sector, in the southwest of Antioquia, is maintained due to landslides and has been obstructed since December 30.

Sucre: in Pajonal, San Onofre they report closing of the roads due to problems with the aqueduct.
