After only one season, Amazon Prime Video has already pulled the plug on the series I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021). The horror series is based on the book of the same name written by Lois Duncan. Earlier, based on the same book, there was also a movie from I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997). Producers Neal H. Moritz and Erik Feig were recently told there will be no sequel season.
The first 4 episodes of I Know What You Did Last Summer were released on the streaming service last summer. The mixed reviews poured in almost immediately. The following episodes were released weekly and they also did not generate much enthusiasm among the fans.
In I Know What You Did Last Summer, we follow a group of teenagers who, after a fatal car accident, carry a dark secret with them. A year after the tragedy, they are stalked by a bloodthirsty killer and must solve the mystery before falling victim to his actions themselves.
Originally, season 2 was devoted to the story surrounding a cult. Some of the relationships in the series developed in a different way than I expected. Cult culture is a big part of this city’s history
Sara Goodman, Production Manager
Unfortunately, these plans won’t make it to the streaming service. Season 1 continues to be available via Amazon Prime Video.
