“I love you, my captain angel”: Carolina Gaitán wrote an emotional message for her brother, who died 12 years ago

The singer and actress Carolina Gaitán, through her social networks, published a message dedicated to her brother, Germán David, a 21-year-old young man who died after being the victim of a plane crash in the El Palmar village, in the Finca La Unión, in the Municipality of La Paz in the department of Santander. Germán was a pilot, the same as his father. On the day of the accident, Monday, January 4, 2019, Gaitán’s brother was traveling in a Cessna 150 aircraft with registration HK1952G. “My everything. I miss you but I always feel you, ”wrote Carolina who, these days, is preparing to become the new jury of the panel of the musical talent contest ‘X Factor’.

“When someone you love leaves, it is as if not a day has passed from that moment. It’s been a long time, but for me it’s been a very long day since you went flying. And when this long day is over, I only know that I will hug you again. I love you, my angel captain. That hug will come back to fly together, “added the artist on her Instagram account, in which she also shared photographs in which she is seen posing with him.

The plane in which Germán crashed, according to what the Canal Caracol program related, ‘Se dice de mi’, in which Carolina was interviewed, belonged to the Aeroclub de Colombia aviation school. The young man, to whom the singer called ‘Mancho’, affectionately, collided with a hill while driving the Cessna 150. Carolina, in her dialogue with the Diva Jessurum program, assured that her last conversation with her younger brother was’ very pretty, ‘well, in that talk, he reminded her how happy she was with her job. “His soul was in a moment of fullness,” he stressed.

“What happened to Mancho?” She remembers Carolina asking her father, who decided to call her to tell her about the tragedy. “Well, he killed himself,” he replied, in the midst of despair and anguish, recounted ‘La Gaita’, as Carolina is known. For several months, Carolina and her family struggled to try to clarify the causes of death because, for them, it was strange, with the great ability that the young man had to fly, that he had crashed with that hill. Carolina, in the end, explained that she and her other relatives decided to take the duel in peace.

“There are many irregularities that we have seen at the technical level and at the level of a programming change that was made suddenly and voluntarily by the instructor. He changed the route, suddenly, due to a personal forgetfulness of him, of an element. They came through mountain ranges, being a single-engine plane (…) a lot of things and faults that came up, ”Gaitán denounced on the Caracol Channel newscast.

According to what he said, in those days, an aircraft similar to the one his brother flew had mechanical problems, so it could not be used. Despite that, she said, no review was made to verify the good condition of the others. He denied, in turn, the rumors that his brother was ill, and that for that reason the accident had occurred.

“There is nothing sadder. I have a very big angel by my side all the time. I am so protected. People who want to approach me to hurt me crash into a giant angel, “he said in an interview with Telemundo. Her parents and sisters assure that Carolina and Germán were very close due to how contemporary they were in their age. They were almost twins, some of them say. Today, January 4, Gaitán fondly remembers his ‘little brother’, as he also tells him in interviews.
