Call Brand
Lucinda Brand called on the International Cycling Federation (UCI) on Sunday morning to come up with a solution for laggards who hinder the lead in the race. In her opinion, laggards who are now a lap behind should let the lead pass in the pitlane.
According to her, she has already approached the UCI several times, but so far it has not yielded anything. “They don’t like my idea, but they don’t come up with a solution themselves,” said the cyclo-cross rider.
“Why do we have to wait for riders who are lapped back to negatively affect the result?” Brand tweeted. “Unfortunately, this messed up Ceylin’s race yesterday.”
