Hoarding savings makes German households richer than ever

German households are richer than ever, mainly thanks to the massive hoarding of savings during the corona crisis. According to research by the German DZ Bank, household wealth has risen to a record level of almost 7,700 billion euros in the past year, which is an increase of more than 7 percent compared to 2020.
