A total of 30 people were detained between the night of December 31 and the early morning of January 1, the Guadalajara Municipal Police reported.
In their report they detailed that 27 people were arrested for administrative offenses, mainly disturbing public order and drinking alcoholic beverages on public roads.
In addition, they arrested two people for drug possession and one more for business robbery.
They also collaborated with Civil Protection and the Guadalajara Fire Department, in securing 7.5 kilos of pyrotechnics and in putting down 24 bonfires, in addition to preventing another seven from being started.
Three fall for robbery in Providencia
With Operative Providencia, Guadalajara police detained three men who allegedly participated in the robbery of a house. Officers were patrolling in the vicinity of Florence and Ottawa streets, when they saw two men carrying various objects that they were taking out of a home into a car with taxi colors.
The subjects ran after they noticed the presence of the uniformed men, so the police officers secured them, as well as a third man who was in the taxi. Officers secured a fan, chairs, a water cooler, and several lamps, and observed damage to the house.
The detainees identified themselves as Alfredo “N”, 35 years old; Agustín “N”, 50, and Saúl Ismael “N”, 29, and were brought before the Public Ministry.
