After the attack in which two people who worked as guards at the facilities of Channel 44 of the University of Guadalajara died, the governor of Jalisco ruled out that it was an attack on the media and said that he discussed the matter with the rector Ricardo Villanueva Lomelí.
The head of the state Executive Power commented that offered to reinforce security in the area of attack and commented that, although they were private security elements, they are in a position to talk with the families of the deceased.
“I personally spoke with the rector to explain that there was no other implication in the murder of these private security guards, we are going to investigate the case and we are going to maintain a presence, of course if it were necessary to reinforce our presence in the area to some extent. We will do it, “he said.
The local president did not refer to the precautionary measures requested by the National Human Rights Commission, nor to the statement issued by the Office in Mexico of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN-DH) that condemned the attack and requested exhaust all lines of investigation, including the hypothesis of a possible link between the attack and the journalistic work carried out by Channel 44 and the other media.
In other matters, the governor stated that during 2022 they will seek to put more speed and budget at the University Center of Tlaquepaque.
