The historical conflict that the Economic Research and Teaching Center (CIDE) is experiencing does not stop and every day new characters join the discussion, since the subject has become a matter of public interest, beyond being an institution financed by citizen resources.
In this regard, the emeritus member of the National System of Researchers of CONACYT, Lorenzo Meyer, issued a new opinion on the matter, in which he classified the problems that the CIDE is experiencing as an “unexpected political conflict”.
“In a context where interest clashes already abound, it is not advisable to encourage one more. We must find the negotiated solution there and overcome the rancor, “said the Mexican academic and political analyst on his Twitter account, where in the past he made clear his position of living in a polarized Mexico.

During the morning of last Tuesday, some CIDE students marched towards the Senate of the Republic to present a letter of demands due to the appointment of José Antonio Romero Tellaeche as the new director of the institution, classified as “irregular.”
The CIDE community demanded autonomy during the meeting with around 20 senators, which was classified as positive:
“We have requested the intermediation of the Ministry of the Interior and Education, of the government of Mexico City, of the federal government. No one had received us, so we want to thank the legislators for having received us, “said CIDE academic Javier Aparicio.
