The person likely responsible for a femicide committed in March 2021 in Santa María Guienagati, in the region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, located between Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tabasco and Chiapas, was apprehended as notified by the Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office (FGEO).
March 14 The body of Marycruz, mother of three children and 38-year-old community member, was found and daughter of defender Nicasio Zaragoza.

The facts are recorded in criminal case 226/2021, on March 14, 2021, where it is detailed that the person likely responsible caused the death of the victim and left the body abandoned in the “Limón” area, located in the aforementioned municipality. According to expert studies carried out on the victim, cause of death was asphyxia from manual strangulation.
