“The script arrived last week,” Holland said. “I haven’t read it yet, they have yet to send it to me.”
Producer Amy Pascal already got the script and Holland said that “she already FaceTimed me before, I was in the bath then”, he laughed. “It was a good talk, but I’m going to play Fred Astaire.”
The actor is not averse to a dance or a song, Holland started his acting career on stage in London. There he played the lead role in Billy Elliot the Musical. We also remember the viral video where he danced to a medley of Singin’ in the Rain and Rihanna’s Umbrella during a Lip Sync Battle. In it, the actor proves that he can dance well.
Fred Astaire is regarded as one of the greatest dancers of all time, having appeared in more than 30 Broadway shows and films including Swing Time, The Gay Divorcee and Top Hat.
The project is still in its early stages, at the moment Tom Holland is busy with the promo tour for Spider-Man: No Way Home which will be released in cinemas in December.
